Digital Canvas Award Winners Announced

The National Association of Photoshop Professionals Announces Winners of First Annual Worldwide Adobe Photoshop Competition

The National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) today announced the winners of the Digital Canvas Awards — its first international competition for users of Adobe Photoshop software.

After receiving nearly 600 entries from around the world, NAPP judges selected “The Day I Looked Up to the Sky and Saw Mucha’s Stars” by Amiel Lita Lapuebla of Las Pinas, Philippines as the Best of Show. Lapuebla receives a five-day trip to Paris, France for two where he’ll create a future magazine cover for Photoshop User, the official publication of NAPP.

Other winners include Michael Moreau, Jr. — Advertising Design; Ciro Marchetti — Artistic Design; Jonathan Steelandt — Composites and Collage; Dan Peterson — General Photography ; Paul Lang — Illustration; Stephen Peacock — Landscape and Travel; John Steele — Photo Restoration; Phil Scarsbrook — Photo Retouching; Adam Daniels – Wedding and Portrait and Matt Pavel in Student Work. Each winner receives a $2,500 award package that includes gifts from Wacom , Adobe, Peachpit Press, and ColorVision. Plus, their work will be showcased in a special issue of Photoshop User magazine. Additionally, all winners are special guests of NAPP at the upcoming Adobe-sponsored Photoshop World Conference & Expo in Miami on March 22-24, 2006.
